Preventative Services

Preventive dental care is important to keeping your teeth healthy throughout the course of your life to help maintain good oral health. It’s a combination of regular dental check-ups along with developing good habits like brushing and flossing. Preventive dentistry services include regular oral exams (usually every 6 months), teeth cleanin, and routine X-rays.

Cleaning

Teeth cleaning is part of oral hygiene and involves the removal of dental plaque from teeth with the intention of preventing cavities, gingivitis, and periodontal disease

Sealants

Dental sealants are a dental treatment intended to prevent tooth decay. Teeth have recesses on their biting surfaces; the back teeth have fissures and some front teeth have cingulum pits.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers (sometimes called dental veneers or dental porcelain laminates) are wafer-thin, custom-made shells of tooth-colored materials designed to cover the front surface of teeth to improve your appearance. These shells are bonded to the front of the teeth changing their color, shape, size, or length.

Cosmetic Bonding

Dental bonding is a cosmetic procedure in which a tooth-colored composite resin material is applied to your teeth to improve your smile. Bonding can improve the appearance of teeth that are chipped, broken, cracked, stained or have spaces between them.

Missing Tooth Replacement

There are a variety of ways to replace a missing tooth. Dr. Cerny will evaluate your specific situation and identify a plan that works best for you which could include various options including dental implants, bridges, or dentures.

Dental Implants

A dental implant is a surgical component that interfaces with the bone of the jaw or skull to support a dental prosthesis such as a crown, bridge, denture, facial prosthesis or to act as an orthodontic anchor.

Crowns

In dentistry, crown refers to the anatomical area of teeth, usually covered by enamel. The crown is usually visible in the mouth after developing below the gingiva and then erupting into place. If part of the tooth gets chipped or broken, a dentist can apply an artificial crown.

Bridges

A bridge is a fixed dental restoration used to replace one or more missing teeth by joining an artificial tooth definitively to adjacent teeth or dental implants.

Periodontal Treatment

Periodontitis is a serious, but common, gum infection that damages gums and can destroy the jawbone. Treatment includes professionally cleaning the pockets around teeth to prevent damage to surrounding bone. Advanced cases may require surgery.

Extractions

Extractions are a relatively quick outpatient procedure with either local, general, intravenous anesthesia, or a combination. Removing visible teeth is a simple extraction. Teeth that are broken, below the surface, or impacted require a more involved procedure.

Root Canal Therapy

Root canal therapy is a treatment sequence for the infected pulp of a tooth which is intended to result in the elimination of infection and the protection of the decontaminated tooth from future microbial invasion. It is thought to be very painful but is a pain-relieving treatment.

Partial Dentures

A removable partial denture is a denture for a partially edentulous patient who desires to have replacement teeth for functional or aesthetic reasons and who cannot have a bridge any reason, such as a lack of required teeth to serve as support for a bridge or financial limitations.

Full Dentures

Dentures are prosthetic devices constructed to replace missing teeth, and are supported by the surrounding soft and hard tissues of the oral cavity. Conventional dentures are removable. However, there are many denture designs, some which rely on bonding or clasping onto teeth or dental implants.

Implant-Supported Dentures

Implant-supported dentures are the middle ground between the conventional denture that uses adhesive and the more expensive advanced full-arch dental implants. Implant-supported dentures are a great option for individuals who are seeking an affordable option to significantly improve their ability to chew and smile. This type of dentures is removable, allowing for cleaning and maintainance to be just as easy as a traditional denture.
